Pastor Cory Jones has served the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Burlington, NJ (TBC) as Senior Pastor since December 2012. God’s hand has been evident in this union of pastor and people. During Pastor Cory’s tenure, TBC has experienced exponential growth in all facets of ministry. Hundreds of individuals and families have been touched by his teaching and preaching ministry and have united with TBC. The worship experience has evolved to reach persons of all ages so each can have an intimate relationship with God. In addition, the church’s outreach has stretched to reach new demographics, including adopting a school in Ghana.
Through Pastor Cory’s leadership, TBC has strived to be a “Christ-Centered Village” that ministers to the whole person. Congregational Fitness was established to encourage physical fitness within the congregation and surrounding community. The Counseling Center was created to minister to the emotional and mental needs of members and nonmembers. Hallelujah HYPE Night was created as a safe and fun alternative to Halloween for families throughout Burlington County to participate in. Partnerships have been established with various organizations to provide vital services including free tax preparation, breast cancer screenings, health fairs, and job training. These are just a few examples of the revitalizing ministry that has taken place.
Pastor Cory has been given the opportunity to share in ministry throughout the country. He is a much sought after speaker and has served in a variety of capacities. Currently, he is a board member of Good Faith Media and Lott Carey Foreign Missions Society. Educationally, Pastor Cory earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Divinity from the Morehouse School of Religion at ITC, and a Doctor of Ministry from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Eastern University. Throughout his life, Pastor Cory has dedicated himself to God and the local church. A native of Los Angeles, he was licensed to preach by Dr. Melvin V. Wade Sr. at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. He also served the Greater St. Paul Baptist Church of Oakland as Youth Pastor and the Jackson Memorial Baptist Church of Atlanta as Assistant Pastor. Pastor Cory is a lifelong learner, sports enthusiast, and music lover. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Pastor Cory is married to Deborah Jones and has three beautiful children, Dakota Aubree Jones, Cory Jones Jr. (Affectionately known as CJ), and their newest addition Cairo Lewis Jones.
